Actor-writer-producer Todd
Allen has appeared in over 30 films. Among the more notable are three
films with Director Lawrence Kasdan, SILVERADO, GRAND CANYON, and WYATT
EARP. Allen also co-starred with Robert Duvall in his Academy
Award-nominated, THE APOSTLE.
Among Allen’s numerous
television appearances are, most recently, a co-starring role again
opposite Robert Duvall in the mini-series, BROKEN TRAIL, where he received
great
reviews for the role of “Marshal Bill Miller.” He has just completed
filming on two projects simultaneously; in AMERICAN IDENTITY, a tribute
film to those lost in the 9/11 attacks and those who went overseas to
fight, Allen plays a Marine Master Sergeant in Afghanistan, and CLAIRE, a
movie for the Hallmark Channel.
He also has several recent guest-starring appearances
on television including MONK, and NCIS. Previously, he had leading roles
in the television movies, “The Soul Collector”, “Night Visitors”, “Tall
Dark and Deadly” and others. A personal favorite came early in his career
when he played jet ace Chuck Yeager in the CBS three-hour special
presentation of “Pancho Barnes”. He has guest-starred on such shows as”
Chicago Hope”, “Jag”, “Magnificent 7”, “ Profiler”, “Any Day Now”, and
many others.
As a Producer,
Allen has multiple projects in development in features and television
through his company, Indigo Productions. He has projects at Columbia
Tri-Star Television, Warner Bros., and is partnered with Kevin Costner’s
Tig Productions on epic mini-series of early Texas entitled NOT BETWEEN
BROTHERS. He is Producer on the feature “PARIS UNDERGROUND,” previously
at Warner Bros., and Gaylord Films, as well as “NO NAME ON THE BULLET,”
the story of America’s most decorated war hero, Audie Murphy, and “COLEMAN
JAIL,” the true story of a young girl's rise to become Sheriff of a small
Texas town.
Allen has written
several well-regarded screenplays including a co-writing credit on “THE
EMPTY QUARTER,” based on the novel by David Marion Wilkinson. Two he plans
to direct are, THE DESERTERS, a gritty, film-noir western based on the
Luke Short novel, and SUICIDE GRIP, a love story set against the exciting
and dangerous backdrop of the World Rodeo Finals in Las Vegas.
A requested speaker at film
and writer’s conferences, Allen was previously the Keynote speaker at the
Ozark Creative Writers Conference. He sits on the Board of the Austin
Film Festival with notables, Randall Wallace, Bill Broyles, Bill Wittliff,
Ann Rapp, and John Lee Hancock.
While in Texas, Allen helped
craft a revolutionary film incentive package on behalf of the State of
Texas and Governor Rick Perry.

Allen maintains residences in Los Angeles and
Austin, Texas, and is a devoted Texas Longhorn fan.
